Omya Magprill 1000kg - Non TFES

Magprill is a 2 to 6 mm granulated product manufactured in Bathurst, NSW from finely ground, high purity dolomite with certified organic input. It acts as a soil conditioner, balancing pH to the optimal level, and provides both calcium and magnesium nutrition. It can be used in place of Calciprill when higher levels of magnesium are required.

Calcium and magnesium are key nutrients required by all crops. Calcium deficiency results in slower root growth and damage to the tissues of developing leaves and fruit. Magnesium is a central component of chlorophyll and it plays a role in the transport of carbohydrates produced in photosynthesis. Magnesium is prone to leaching, especially from acidic soils. Magprill will correct acid soils and provide a source of magnesium to the crop. It also alleviates the toxicity of aluminium and other ions in the soil. We recommend annual applications of Magprill at lower rates to help maintain nutrient balance and prevent a recurrence of acidity and toxicity.

Magprill is low in dust and can be applied to crops at any time, using standard spreader equipment. It can be direct-drilled or air seeded with lucerne, canola and cereals, to provide a readily available source of magnesium during establishment and throughout the growing season. It can be applied either on its own or with other inputs using existing equipment and is ideal for precise variable application. Magprill is a certified organic input suitable for use in National Standard and AS 6000 organic systems.
